LEOPOLD AND HIS FICTION EXTEND U.S. HEADLINE TOUR Band Previews Songs From Upcoming Album, Produced By Upcoming Dates Include August 28 Show At The Satellite In Los Angeles “howlin’, hip shakin’, hair blowin’, music-critic-hyperbolizin’ rock ’n’ roll” “serving up a sexy rock strut that would make Jack White
As word continues to spread about Leopold and his Fiction’s roof-raising performances at SXSW, X Games Austin and on the road, the band has extended its current U.S. headline tour into September and landed supporting gigs with Gary Clark Jr. (July 16 in Wilmington, NC) and Allen Stone, The Soft White Sixties and The Suffers (August 2 at REI Summer Fest in Houston). After a series of Texas dates, Leopold and his Fiction will head west. The new headline dates include shows at The Satellite in Los Angeles (August 28), DNA Lounge in San Francisco (August 29) and Barboza in Seattle (September 1). See below for itinerary. While on the road, the band will be previewing material from its new album, which was recorded with producer-engineer Chris "Frenchie" Smith (The Datsuns, Jet, The Dandy Warhols) and will be released next year. The Austin-based band has received rave reviews for its live shows, with American Songwriter observing, “Coldplay and Imagine Dragons take over SXSW, but it’s Leopold and his Fiction that really impress.” Detroit-born lead singer Daniel James was described by the Charlotte Observer as “a frontman who looks like a silent film Freddie Mercury, howls like Jack White, and holds a crowd like a rock n’ roll evangelist.” In a review of the band’s recent performance at the X Games Austin, ESPN.go.com noted, “Even in the Texas heat and humidity, front man Daniel James incites a roaring response from the crowd. James shakes, jives and howls his way across the stage. Drummer Trevor Wiggins and bass player Shaun Gonzalez supply the thick grooves and pulsating back beat. Much to the crowd's delight, the three-piece band delivers soul-drenched, bare-bones rock 'n' roll.” You can check out the video for Leopold and his Fiction’s current single, “I’m Caving In,” HERE. Leopold and his Fiction have recently supported The Cult, ZZ Top, Shooter Jennings, Reverend Peyton and Deer Tick, among others. The band’s songs have been heard in such television shows as “Sons of Anarchy” (FX), “Dallas” (TNT), and “Deadliest Catch (Discovery Channel) and been licensed by Gap, Ray-ban, Volvo and Monster Energy BMX and others. 7/15 – Charlotte, NC @ The Cobber w/Chris Cook or visit: www.leopoldandhisfiction.com
